Coach Archie Duran, a great hardworking coach and teacher who will be missed by the many students, teachers, and friends whose lives he touched. Through your coaching our daughters Ari and Jalle, we had become acquainted. When we last spoke at the district meet, you backpack was too big for me to give you a hug, but I was glad to be able to talk and talk about how proud we are of our daughters. In that familiar deep voice, your last words to me were I'm happy. What a better way for us to part (smile).
Archie, we can truly say that your presence in our lives was our pleasure and your loss hurts us to the core. You were not only one of those rare good men who made everyone around you better for knowing you. You were an example for all our community's youth to emulate and everything one would wish to be.
You will always be remembered in the hearts of many as not only a teacher, and coach but as family. A friend. A good human.

I knew Archie well while he was at Jefferson. I was his social studies facilitator and respected him as a teacher of utmost integrity and dedication, a very fine person.
