Jose Contreras Obituary
El Paso - El Paso - Jose Jaime (Joe) Contreras passed away on July 23, 2019. He was 78 years old. Born in Ciudad Juarez, Chihuahua, he moved to El Paso with his family. He was a proud Bowie High School class of 1959 alumnus and U.S. Air Force veteran. Joe was a proud father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He is survived by his wife Ana Maria, his daughters Elizabeth Marie Steele, Evelyn Michelle Solorza (Victor), and Emily Margaret Rush (Paddy), six grandchildren, two great granddaughters, brother Victor Daniel Contreras (Elvira), sister Gladys Maria Zamora (Jose) and a large extended family. Vigil Service will be held on Saturday, July 27, 2019 at 4:00 p.m. at Martin Funeral Home East 1460 George Dieter, El Paso, Texas 79936. Burial to be scheduled at Fort Bliss National Cemetery.
José Jaime (Joe) Contreras falleció el 23 de julio del 2019. Tenía 78 años de edad. Nació en Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua. Después se mudó a El Paso con su familia. Fue parte de la generación de Bowie High School de 1959 y veterano de la Fuerza Aérea de Estados Unidos. Joe fue un orgulloso padre, abuelo y bisabuelo. Le sobrevive su esposa Ana María, sus hermanas Elizabeth Marie Steele, Evelyn Michelle Solorza (Victor) y Emily Margaret Rush (Paddy), sus seis nietos, dos bisnietos, su hermano Victor Daniel Contreras (Elvira), su hermana Gladys Maria Zamora (José) y familia extendida. El servicio de vigilia será el sábado 27 de julio del 2019 a las 4:00 p.m. en Martin Funeral Home East, en el 1460 George Dieter, El Paso, Texas 79936. El entierro está programado a realizarse en el cementerio nacional de Fort Bliss.

I am saddened to hear of Mr Contreras. I recall from years past seeing he and his softball teammates playing and having fun at Ponder Park. My condolences to his three beautiful daughters especially, Elizabeth, whom is a wonderful friend of mine. Aswell,my sincere sympathies to Mrs. Contreras and the entire family.

Sir I would just like to say thank you for your service and sacrifice for our Country when you served with the USAF during the Cold War.
