Catherine Donnelly

1954 - 2014

Cathy McGraw Donnelly was born June 30, 1954 to Frank and Ruth McGraw.
She passed away on March 6, 2014 after a short bout with cancer.

Cathy enjoyed her childhood growing up at the family dude ranch in Estes Park, CO and spent many hours riding her favorite horse "Popcorn" with her family and guests at the ranch. They covered many trails together in the back country.

In 1989, Cathy married Frank Donnelly from Scottsdale, AZ. Frank had owned Kentucky Fried Chicken franchises in North Carolina and then retired to Arizona. They discovered they liked to buy and fix up homes for resale. After selling their home in Scottsdale, they lived in Sun City West,then Sierra Vista and then back to Sun City where they have lived for sixteen years. They enjoyed Elks, golf, trips to Cancun, their dogs; Susie and Shannon, working out at the gym, numerous hobbies and most of all their friends. Most summers, they returned to Estes Park and spent a month there getting reaquainted with old friends and family.

Cathy began her accounting career during college and worked with several businesses as a bookkeeper. For the last eight years, she was a tax preparer for H & R Block during tax season. In October she received her Enrolled Agent Certificate from the Department of the Treasury, which took many months of studying and testing.

Cathy is survived by her husband, Frank Donnelly of 25 years. Her two sisters and husbands: Fran Grooters and Jay, Anne Adams and Tom, her cousin Renita Linyard and husband Bob, several nieces,nephews and cousins.
Cathy was the youngest of five daughters. She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Ruth McGraw and two older sisters, Sally Blandin and Ruth Watson.

A Memorial Service will be held on March 18th, Tuesday at 11:00 am at St. Clements of Rome Catholic Church, 15800 Del Webb Blvd. Sun City, AZ. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of the Valley, 10323 W. Olive Ave., Peoria, AZ 85345, in memory of Catherine Donnelly.
