Brandon Kinney Obituary
Brandon never brought stray animals home; instead he brought home stray friends. He always convinced his mom and dad to find a bed or provide a meal – maybe for a night, maybe for a year. He always wanted to help others.
Brandon studied environmental geology at Edinboro University. He planned to finish his degree in 2017. For the first time in a while he had a plan and was excited to follow it through. He loved the land and hiking and hoped to travel west to live as one with nature.
Some dear friends recently took a chance and hired Brandon to work at Adele's on Peach St., Erie.
Beside his parents, he is survived by his grandparents, Linda Collie of Arizona, Arnold and Sandy Loop of Waterford, Carole Kinney of Florida, and Jackie and Lou Eller of Erie. He also has several aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family and friends.
Brandon is preceded in death by his great-grandmother, Mary S. Mitchell, and two cousins, Matthew Thomas and Gregory Nelson. Brandon's grandfather, Dave Kinney, recently passed in April.
No matter how much we loved him and supported him, we couldn't kill the demon that took him. We will always love him; he was our life.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, May 20th at 3:00 p.m. upstairs at the American Legion on West 4th Street in Waterford. To share condolences with the family, please visit www.vanmatrefuneralhome.com.
