DeWayne Alcorn Obituary
He was retired from the United States Air Force, with 20 years of service, and was a 2011 graduate of Southern Poly University, where he was given the Distinguished Scholar Award.
He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Barbara J. Alcorn; children, Nicholas Alcorn, Steven Alcorn, Timothy Alcorn; mother, Thelma Alcorn; brother, Brian Alcorn; granddaughter, Lillian Alcorn; and aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 25 at 1 p.m., in the chapel of Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home, with Rev. Robert Ledbetter officiating. Full military honors will follow the service.
The family will receive friends between the hours of 6 until 8 p.m. Friday, at the funeral home.

Dear Mrs. Alcorn and family,
We here in the IT department of SPSU were very saddened to hear about DeWayne. I had him in my classes and found him to be a great addition to all of our classes. Please accept the condolences of all of the faculty from the IT department, and also the whole faculty of the School of Computing & Software Engineering. He was a great man.

I worked with Dwayne on a few occasions at Langley. It was a pleasure and I learned a lot. Hearing about a loss is never an easy thing. My condolences go out to you and yours Mrs. Alcorn.

Brenda and I were sorry to hear of Dewayne passing. May God Bless and keep you and your family during your time of sadness. I knew Dewayne for 31 years and was his first supervisor in the Air Force at Davis-Monthan AFB, Az. We worked together on several important projects for the Air Force over the years.
