Kenneth Snider Obituary

Kenneth C. Snider, Jr. Kenneth C. Snider, Jr., 61, of Erie, died Thursday, January 26, 2006 at St. Vincent Health Center. He was born in Erie on April 8, 1944, son of Ruth Snider of Erie and the late Kenneth C. Snider, Sr. Ken was employed at A.O. Smith/FMC Technology for 35 years until his retirement. He was an avid bowler with numerous leagues and bowled one 300 game and two 299 games, and he also enjoyed golfing. Ken was a veteran of the US Army, serving in the Vietnam War as a Combat Medic. He was a recipient of the Bronze Star and the Army Commendation Medal. He was a former member of American Legion Carl Neff Post 571, and a life member of the East Erie Turners. Besides his mother, he is survived by his daughter, Lisa Wendland of Willis, Mich.; his sister, Linda Higby of Erie; his granddaughter, Morgan Wendland; two nephews, Kevin and Brian Higby; one great-nephew, Damon Higby; and three great-nieces. Friends may call at the Dusckas Funeral Home, Inc., East, 2607 Buffalo Rd., on Sunday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., and are invited to attend a funeral service there on Monday at 11 a.m., conducted by Rev. Dr. Drew Harvey of First United Methodist Church. A full military service will follow at Wintergreen Gorge Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Northwestern Pa. Humane Society, P.O. My deepest sympathy to Ken's family. He was a wonderful friend and neighbor when I lived on 30th St. We will all miss him.
