Mr. and Mrs. Rao and family,
We are all so sorry for your loss. I had the opportunity to meet and witness this exceptional young woman and her loving family when she was a patient on the short stay unit at St. Vincent Hospital. Her courage and your strength, are admireable!! What excellent examples of Christians you all are.

Our deepest sympathy to the Rao family. I met Gina several years ago when I was living in Erie through an Alumni Group. She was a gentle spirit and we exchanged many stories about our beloved canine "children". I am so sorry to hear of her passing however I know from just meeting and knowing her the short time I did that she was a wonderful and caring person. I hope you can find peace in the coming days ahead and have fond memories of Gina.
Kind Regards,
Michelle Sischo

Dear Friends,
We are so saddened by your loss. I still remember the first time I saw Gina. She was about 5 yrs old, absolutely beautiful with her wonderful curly hair! With the passing years, we came to realize she was as lovely on the inside as as she was on the out.
Our prayers are with you all.
Love,

I met Ms. Rao when i was a student at Villa Maria academy in her Physics II class...one that I was apprehensive to take as I knew it would be difficult. Though the course was challenging, Ms. Rao made it fun and interesting and always made herself available if ever we had questions or didn't understand something. She was a very kind person and an extremely dedicated teacher. Ms. Rao's passion for teaching and for physics was contagious and because she loved it so much the students enjoyed learning that much more. She was a wonderful teacher and a wonderful person and she will truly be missed. My prayers and sympathies go out to the Rao family.

Ms Rao was a teacher of mine at Villa. She took time after school to help me learn a subject I was not good in. She genuinley loved helping others and wanted to see them achieve. I will always cherish and remeber discussins and conversations I had with her that could last for a long time while both of us had work to do! Ms Rao became more than a teacher, she became a friend and someone I could approach and talk to. She was such a genuine person with strong faith and conviction. I will never forget that she opened her classes with a prayer. She had such a deep faith and beautiful nature that everyone admired. I will never forget Ms Rao and my prayers go out to her family and friends.

Dear Rao Family,
I am deeply sorry for your loss. I have many fond memories of JR and I ambushing Gina's room when we were younger. Probably driving her crazy in the process, she was always so kind. You have my deepest sympathy.

My deepest sympathies to all members of the Rao family. Gina was a great friend to me and one of the most genuine people I have ever met. She comforted all who met her through her quiet serenity and her ability to care deeply for others. If death is the mother of beauty, her memory is more beautiful to me because of her untimely passing, and the fact that I may never again know such a person.
She was a wonderful friend, and I will miss her deeply.

I was so sorry to hear about Gina. I have so many memories of her from school and Girl Scouts. She was always fun and had a wonderful sense of humor. I keep remembering the night before our last day of school at Mount Carmel. Gina, Karen, Stacey, and I camped out in Karen’s backyard, and we had the greatest time! We were so excited for school to be over and for our “lives” to begin in high school. It’s really hard to believe that now she’s gone. Mr. and Mrs. Rao, you have my deepest sympathy and you are in my prayers.

I am deeply sorry for your loss.

Dear Helen & Tony,
We are saddened to hear of the loss of your daughter Gina. It has been many years since we have seen anyone, more like a lifetime, especially since we have never met the next generation. Gina sounds like we missed out on a wonderful friendship. If she is anything like her mom, we know we have.
What we have read in Gina’s obituary and testimonies from her friends tells us that she was special, a very accomplished person and a person who made a difference in lives that she had touched and was loved by all. We truly wish that we could have met her so we too could have shared our lives.
Gina is in a far better place, a place of peace and harmony, her spirit will live on.
We must tell you that just reading about her and who she was has made a difference within our family. You should be very proud. Gina and your family are in our thoughts and prayers.
Love,

To Gina's family,
My name is Luciana Aronne and I met Gina when she came to teach chemistry at Penn State Behrend. I met with her every week to discuss how her teaching was going and was able to get to know her well. She was a bright, cheerful, kind woman with a wonderful sense of humour. I saw her a few times for lunch after her illness and I will always have fond memories of her. My deepest sympathy is with you at this time.

Dear Mr. & Mrs. Rao & Family:
My sympathies are with you and your family. I am so saddened to hear the news of Gina's passing. While in Erie, we met through a local Alumni Group and became instant friends. She was a caring person and I will treasure the memories that I shared with her. Even after I moved away, we still kept in touch and I could always count on her to have wonderful conversation over dessert (which we both loved) when I came into town. She will truly be missed and her spirit will shine on.

Dear Mr. & Mrs. Rao and family,
I can't begin to express my deep sorrow over your great loss. Gina was an amazing person. She was one of the best friends I have ever had. Her great kindness and compassion were beyond compare. I will always treasure the memories of our time together at Gannon and beyond. Even though we lived far apart from each other over the past few years, we still maintained a close friendship. Gina was always there for me no matter what to give a kind word and encouragement. I will miss her so very much.
My heartfelt prayers are with you at this difficult time. I know Gina is in heaven smiling down on all of us.

I worked at Duke University with Gina. When she joined our lab our friendship grew instantly. The two of us would do all kinds of mundane lab and field work together, like picking small roots out of dirt and then washing and weighing them. The work was made fun by the amazing conversations we would have. We often talked about our faith and what kind of people we were striving to be. Gina was a kindred spirit. I felt like distance and time could not dim the friendship. Death will not either.
Through our conversations I know that Gina came from an extraordinarily loving family. That love formed a beautiful person. Gina's life touched mine in a soft, caring, God-filled way. I imagine many others can say the same.

Tony, Helen, and family: My thoughts and prayers are with you as you mourn the passing of Gina from this world into everlasting life. Gina and I crossed paths regularly when she was at Villa and I was at Prep, when we both were at Gannon, and again when we were both studying at Penn State. My encounters with her were always grace-filled moments that illuminated my life, as I am sure others could attest. Eternal rest grant unto her, O, Lord.
