Borth, David

David A. Borth, 53, of Fond du Lac, passed away peacefully with his family at his side, on Wednesday, June 29, 2011, at University of Wisconsin-Hospital and Clinic in Madison.

David was born on April 29, 1958, at Waupun Memorial Hospital.

He was the son of William and Patricia Remmenga Borth.

David graduated from Horace Mann High School in North Fond du Lac in 1976.

On Feb. 14, 1998, he married the love of his life, Lori Straub, at St. Matthew's Catholic Church in Campbellsport.

David worked at Oshkosh Truck Corp. for the last 25 and a half years and was a proud member of the UAW local 578. He enjoyed traveling with his wife. He also enjoyed snowmobiling, boating, woodworking, landscaping, camping, NASCAR, old cars, bonfires, playing with his dogs and poker with his family.

Survivors include his loving wife Lori; their dog Jake; his parents, William and Dolores Borth of Fond du Lac and Patricia Borth of Oshkosh; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Henry and Betty Straub of Campbellsport; five siblings: Steve (Sue) Borth of Madison, Jeanna Race of North Fond du Lac, Kathy Kibbe of Madison, James (Cathy) Borth of Fond du Lac and Karen Baumhardt of Eden, nieces and nephews: Daniel Borth and his son Wesley; Kelly (Aaron) Knautz and their son and daughter Alexander and Lily and Katie Borth, all of Madison, Ben (Lisa) Race and their daughter Marghret of Oshkosh, Michelle (Jason) Salow of Vacaville, Calif., Samantha (Julian) Rodriguez of Pleasanton, Calif. and Julianna Race of North Fond du Lac, Kelly Christie and her fianc?e, Dylan Wendt and her daughter, Ella Wendt of Fond du Lac, Jeremy Hendrickson and Mia Baumhardt of Eden, and Shequita Campbell, Sharice and Aaliyah Gray of Madison; two step-sisters, Amy (Michael) Timblin and Rebecca (Jeff) Crofts of Eden and their children, Michael, Mason, Morgan, and McCoy Timblin, and Kya and Abigail Crofts; two brothers-in-law, Robert (Ione) Straub of Bayside and their children, David and Bryan at home, and Robyn (David) Swernoff and their daughter, Mia of Bayside; and Richard (Shirley) Straub of Campbellsport and his stepdaughter, Sara (Tim) King of Madison and their children, Macy, Nolan, Avery; and his stepson Jeremy (Katie) Schrauth of Campbellsport, and their son, Carson; two very special people, Matt Abhold and Jenny Abhold; other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents.

Friends may call at Holy Family Church on Tues. July 5, 2011, from 3:30 to 5:45 p.m.

SERVICES: A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, July 5, 2011, at 6 p.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church, 401 Fourth Street Way, Fond du Lac.

The Rev. Luke Strand will serve as Mass celebrant.

Entombment will be on Wednesday at the Shrine of Rest Mausoleum, Ledgeview Memorial Park in Fond du Lac.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in David's name are appreciated to the Hematology Research Dept. at the UW Hospital and Clinic in Madison or the UW Foundation Carbone Cancer Center.

The family wishes to extend a special thanks to the staff of UW Hospital in Madison TLC Dept. and the cancer unit, for their care and compassion. Thanks to Holy Family Parish, to Rev. Luke Strand and to the Twohig Funeral Home for their assistance in our time of need.
