Marschall, Herbert

Herbert E. Marschall, 76, a resident of 89 Aurora Lane, Fond du Lac, passed away on Monday, September 15, 2014 at home, where he lived with his son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Judy, for the last year, with his family by his side, after a short and courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.

He was born March 11, 1938 to Emil and Mary (Bin) Marschall. He graduated from Oakfield High School. On August 9, 1957 he married Gloria Lemke at the Church of Peace UCC, Fond du Lac.

Herbert was a route salesman for Dick Brothers and Holsum bakery. He was an avid Packer, Badger and Brewer fan. He loved boating, fishing, and playing the lottery and scratch offs. In his younger years, Herbert enjoyed little league coaching, cub scouts' projects, and remodeling around the house.

Survivors include three sons, Mark (Judy) Marschall of Fond du Lac, Terry (Sharon) Marschall of Waunakee, Randy (Debby) Marschall of New Lisbon, one daughter Tammy Marschall of Fond du Lac, nine grandchildren, Alex, Benjamin and Curtis Marschall, Amanda (Nate) Fehrman, Ryan and Alexa Marschall, Andy, Cody and Janna Marschall. He is further survived by four special canine companions, Buddy, Murphy, Stewie, and Izzy and other relatives and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Gloria on July 12, 2008, his parents, three brothers, two sisters and his four-legged best friends B.W. and Allie.

Visitation: Family will receive friends and relatives on Friday, September 19th, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:45 p.m. at Zacherl Funeral Home & Crematory (875 East Division St, Fond du Lac).

Services: Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Entombment will be in the Shrine of Rest Mausoleum, Ledgeview Memorial Park, Fond du Lac, immediately following the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in Herbert's name may be directed to the American Cancer Society.
