Marie Baird Obituary
Marie Eva (nee Redman) Baird, age 85, of Ripon, WI, passed away on Tuesday, May 14, 2013, at home in Ripon.
Marie was born September 5, 1927, in Brandon, WI, the daughter of Louis and Gertrude (Pollock) Redman. After she completed her schooling, she worked as a Packer at Rosendale Green Giant Canning Factory. Marie also worked as a waitress at the '76 Restaurant in Florida for 10 years, and Royal Ridges in Ripon. She also worked at Ripon Knitting Works. Marie was a member of Emanuel Lutheran Church in Brandon.
Marie is survived by her husband, Lester of Ripon, WI; son, Richard (Karen) Braatz of Elva, FLA; grandson, Shane and his special friend Kelly, of Oconomowoc, WI; sister, Phyllis Gassner of Campbellsport, WI; foster son, Jim (Mina) Miller of Weyauwega, WI; step-son, Leonel (Katie) Baird of Green Lake, WI; and step-daughter, Linda (David) Jantz of Ripon, WI, step-grandchildren, Lee Katherine Baird of Green Lake, WI, Chris (Becky) Baird of Ripon, WI and four great-grandchildren. She is further survived by many nieces and nephews. Marie was preceded in death by her parents, first husband, Harold Braatz, brother, Orville Redman, sister-in-law, Elaine Redman, brother-in-law, Gordon Gassner and daughter-in-law, Nancy Braatz.
Visitation for Marie Baird will be held Friday, May 17, 2013, from 4-7 pm at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home, 515 Mayparty Dr., Ripon, WI 54971.
Funeral service for Marie will be held on Friday, May 17, 2013, at 7:00 pm at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home. Reverend Bob Rosenberg will officiate. A private family interment will be held on Saturday, May 18, 2013 at Wedges Prairie Cemetery in the Town of Waupun, Ladoga, WI.
Memorials may be directed to Emanuel Lutheran Church, 107 S. Prairie Str., PO Box 433, Brandon WI. 53919.
