Michael Jaber Obituary
Fond du Lac - Michael Dean Thomas Jaber passed away unexpectedly with his family by his side on July 20, 2021. Mike was born in Fond du Lac on March 14, 1943 to Alfred (Fritz) and Frieda (Miller) Jaber. He graduated from LP Goodrich High School in 1961 and enlisted in the Navy from 1961-1966. After his service to our country, he worked for the State of Wisconsin until he retired in 1998. He was the food services manager for Kettle Moraine Correctional Institute providing exceptional service and culinary guidance to all staff and inmates interested in the culinary arts.
On December 30, 1995, he married Judith R. (Reinecke) Schuettpelz his high school girlfriend. They enjoyed much love and shared many wonderful trips with family and friends throughout their years together.
Mike enjoyed a long retirement filled with golfing, fishing, trips to the casino and making Lebanese food for all his family and so many friends. It brought him great joy to watch others enjoy all the foods he made. He especially loved introducing his grandchildren to Lebanese specialties. He also adored Buster who was his special fur buddy. You knew Mike liked you if he gave you his special "grrrrrrr" hello and stayed longer than 8 minutes.
He is survived by his wife Judy; daughter Leslie (Kevin) Jaber-Wilson and children Breanne (Luke) Peltonen and their son, Elijah and his 3 children, Daniel, Drew, Ian, Tanner and Melissa; son Dean (Stephanie) Jaber and children Ali, Ella, Reagan, Jack and Katherine; daughter TJ (Kevin) Twohig and children Ryan and Ireland; step-son Michael Schuettpelz and children Jarin and Laithy; step-son Tom (girlfriend, Renee Breister) Schuettpelz; brother-in-law John (Barb) Reinecke; sister-in-law JoAnne (Mark) Jaber; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents Alfred and Frieda Jaber, his in-laws Harold and LaVerne Reinecke; and his brother Terrance Jaber, who died as an infant.
The family is honoring Mike's wishes not to have a funeral service. Instead, his wife and children will enjoy a special meal together in his honor. Mike will live on through his tissue donation. Cremation has taken place.
The family would like to express deep gratitude to Dr. Grahl and the emergency staff of St. Agnes Hospital and the emergency medical personnel who responded to their home. If you wish to honor Mike, please consider a memorial in his name to Hospice Home of Hope.

Our annual visits over the decades were filled with memorable moments... mainly because of Mike´s presence. He felt more like a brother to me instead of a cousin.
