LEOMINSTER -- Leon F. Gallagher, Jr., 68, of 256 Litchfield St., died Friday at his home.
Mr. Gallagher was born in Leominster on Sept. 7, 1936, a son of Leon F. and Elizabeth (Soucy) Gallagher, Sr. A life-long Leominster resident, Mr. Gallagher was a graduate of St. Bernard’s High School and Worcester trade school.
Mr. Gallagher was a member of St. Cecilia’s parish. He was an avid golfer, bowler, hunter, and fisherman. He loved to spend time with his family.
Before his retirement, Mr. Gallagher was a sample maker for Union Products in Leominster.
He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Jeanne D. (Aubuchon) Gallagher; two sons: Paul Gallagher and his wife, Tisha, of Fitchburg, and Michael Gallagher and his wife, Rhonda, of California; two daughters: Joyce West and her husband, David, of Templeton, and Kellie Gallagher of Leominster; two sisters: Rita Brodeur of Leominster and Joan Carlson of Fitchburg; four grandchildren: Krystal LeBlanc, Emily LeBlanc, Joslyn Gallagher, and David West; and several nieces and nephews.
GALLAGHER -- On Sept. 2, Leon F. Gallagher, 68, of Leominster. The funeral will be held from Wright-Roy Funeral Home, 109 West St., Leominster, Tuesday, Sept. 6, with a mass at 11 a.m. in St. Cecilia’s Church, 180 Mechanic St., Leominster. The burial will follow in St. Cecilia’s cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home at Monday, Sept. 5, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Donations can be made in Mr. Gallagher’s memory to the St. Cecilia’s Church Restoration Fund, 180 Mechanic St., Leominster, Mass., 01453.
