I served in the Wayne County Grand Jury in the late seventies, and having been held over to see if we could dislodge the money appropriated for jail renovation.
I admired DA Sirkin with his knowledge and just the power of his personality. It was a pleasure to have served while he was serving as DA and I will always remember him as a brilliant asset to our community.

I met Steve years ago when I was an inexperienced D&C reporter in Wayne County trying to do a challenging job, and he was the District Attorney and later a judge. His wit, guidance, and knowledge were such a help. I respected his integrity and fairness - plus, he was a joy to talk to! The world lost a really good guy. My condolences to his family.
