Alice J. Frederick

Alice J. Frederick, 92, passed away May 23, 2013, in Cumming. Mrs. Frederick was born in Johnstown, N.Y. She moved to Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, in 1953, and to Cumming more than four years ago.
She worked as an inhalation therapist at City Hospital in Akron, Ohio, retiring after 23 years of service, and also worked at the Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, election board during primary and general elections for more than 20 years.
Mrs. Frederick was a member of First United Methodist Church of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, for 60 years and was active in the Chancel Choir and Going Strong Seniors Group. She enjoyed attending Tuesday musical presentations and concerts at E.J. Thomas Hall in Akron, Ohio.
She enjoyed singing, church and school activities, crossword and jigsaw puzzles, card and dice games, especially double-solitaire, reading, hiking with friends at municipal parks in Summit County, traveling with family and friends, and following the Cleveland Indians baseball team.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Florence Dawes; brother and sister-in-law, William and Grace Dawes; husband, Robert V. (Bob); son, Robert W. (Bill); and daughter-in-law, Judith.
Mrs. Frederick is survived by her sons, Bruce D. (Joy) of Fort Wayne, Ind., and The Villages, Fla., and Thomas D. (Joyce) of Cumming; four nieces and four nephews. Mrs. Frederick was also a loving grandmother of seven and great-grandmother of four.
A future memorial service will be planned.
