Marcia Laker

Marcia (Jones) Laker, 88, of Fort Wayne, Indiana, passed away on April 17, 2024, Marcia was born in Racine, Wisconsin in 1935, she was the daughter of the late Melton and Geraldine Jones. Marcia attended the University of Wisconsin and graduated from the James War Thorn School of Nursing at the Northwestern University in Chicago, Illinois. She was a member of the Fort Wayne Medical Alliance, twice serving as their president, the Fort Wayne Junior League where she was named the sustainer of the year. Marcia also belonged to Trinity Episcopal Church and the Fort Wayne Country Club. She graduated from the Indiana Purdue University in 1983. Marcia also was president of the Friends of IPFW and for five years and she served on the Board of the Indiana Medical Society Alliance board. She is survived by her children, Jaison Laker and Carey (David) Bryson; and grandchildren, Adrian Morken and William Morken, Elizabeth Laker, Alexandria Laker and Emma Laker. Marcia was also preceded in passing by her sons, Craig William Laker and Gene Laker Jr.; and her previous husband, Dr. Gene Carroll Laker. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
