Shirley Drew Obituary
DOVER - Shirley A Drew, surrounded by her immediate family, passed away on May 23, 2013, at Wentworth Douglas Hospital.
Shirley was born in Keene, N.H., on February 27, 1939 to Anna Helen (Poreda) Dion and to Oscar Louis Dion. Shirley graduated from Jeremiah Burke High School. She went onto Bentley School of Accounting and Finance in Boston, Mass.
Shirley married Wilbur Drew Jr of Dover, N.H., on August 3, 1957, who was a United States Marine; Shirley loved her man in uniform! After she met Wilbur, she told her mother "that's the man I'm going to marry" and 57 years later, they are still in Love.
Shirley had many talents, but family was her favorite. She was also an amazing seamstress who sewed clothes, embroidered sweaters, and created anything that her children or grandchildren wanted if she could. Shirley was also a great cook, whose specialties included Mac and Cheese and Whoopie pies. Shirley was a loving wife to Wilbur, an awesome mother to her children and the best grammy any grandchild could ever have.
Shirley is survived by her husband Wilbur Drew Jr, her beloved dog Annie, and her 5 children: Michael, Scott, Denise, Laurie and Kevin; Daughter-in laws Wendy and Kristina.; her beloved grandchildren: Jessica, April, Mike, Ashley, Nick, Rebecca, Brooke, Gabriella, Kalie, Alauna, Risten, Kevin Jr, Braeden, Brycen; her great- grandchildren: Chase, Ella and soon to arrive Brody. Shirley also loved her sisters-in-law Francis McGregor and Muriel Sullivan and her children Bobby, Debbie, Mary and Doreen; as well as many dear friends.
Friends and family may pay their last respects from 4-6 p.m. on Thursday, May 30th, 2013, at Wiggin- Purdy-McCooey-Dion Funeral home, 655 Central Ave, Dover, NH with a Liturgy of the Word service to immediately follow at 6 p.m. with Father Agapit Jean or Deacon Robert Gagnon, officiating.
