Gilbert Adamson Obituary

Mr. Gilbert B. Adamson, 84, of Damascus, Va., formerly of Middletown and Braddock Heights, died Thursday, June 21, at his home.

He was the husband of the late Jean C. Adamson.

He was a native of Toronto, Canada, and moved to Damascus in 1995. He was a son of the late Arthur and Gladys Banwell Adamson.

He was a veteran of the Royal Canadian Navy having served during World War II, and was a member of the St. Thomas Episcopal Church.

He is survived by one daughter, Mary Alice Adamson of Shady Valley, Tenn.; three sons, Noel Adamson of Eureka, Calif., Eric Adamson of Waldorf, and Paul Adamson of Seven Devils, N.C.; one sister, Molly Stein of Jupiter, Fla.; three grandsons, Ian Adamson, Robert Adamson and Ryan Adamson; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 p.m. Saturday, June 23, at Johnson Funeral Home, Damascus.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, June 24, at St. Thomas Episcopal Church, Abingdon, Va., with the Rev. Jay Mills officiating.

Interment will follow Sunset Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 830 Sullins St., Bristol, Va. 24201.
