Harris Eskin Obituary

Mr. Harris Benjamin "Jake" Eskin, 65, of Mount Airy, formerly of Kensington, and Colonial Beach, Va., died Tuesday, May 16, at Glade Valley Nursing Center, Walkersville, of cancer.

He was the husband of Carol Quayle Grosvenor Eskin, whom he married July 23, 1954.

Born Aug. 23, 1934, in Washington, he was a son of the late Jacob B. and Myrtle Connick Eskin.

Mr. Eskin was a member of Colonial Beach United Methodist Church, Colonial Beach, and had been employed for more than 35 years at the Defense Mapping Agency.

He received many awards for donating blood.

Surviving in addition to his wife are four children, Terri L. King and husband Bob Jr. of Mount Airy, Scott E. Eskin of Germantown, Nicki C. Stamper and husband Russell of New Market, and Judy C. Jackson and husband Steve of O'Fallon, Ill.; five grandchildren, Eric King, Jessica King, Gary Jackson, Shawn Jackson and James Stamper; one great-grandson, Isaiah Nathaniel King; one sister, Eleanor F. Hope of Silver Spring; and several nieces and nephews.

There will be no calling hours at the funeral home.

Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 20, at Colonial Beach United Methodist Church, Colonial Beach, with Mr. Eskin's pastor, the Rev. Louis Martin, officiating.

Inurnment will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family.

The family requests memorial donations to Juvenile Diabetes, 1400 Eye St., N.W., Suite 500, Washington, D.C. 20005.

Arrangements are by Robert E. Dailey & Son Funeral Home, Frederick.
