Mrs. Helen Zoe Witter Hawker, 101, Middletown, died Monday January 14 at Northampton Manor Nursing Home in Frederick. She was the wife of Maynard Hawker who died July 26, 1990. They were married March 11, 1936. Born in Harmony Grove, October 7, 1911 she was a daughter of the late Robert and Zoe Estella Ramsburg Witter. She was the last surviving member of Frederick High School Class of 1929; a devoted member and oldest living member of Zion Lutheran Church, Middletown where she taught sunday school and served on many committees. She was also a member of the Maryland 4-H All -Stars; founding member of the Mid-Valley Homemakers Club and member of both Maryland and Frederick County Guernsey Association. She enjoyed watching birds and was avidBaltimore Orioles fan. She was a homemaker and a farmers wife for most of her life. She enjoyed knitting and working in her garden and with her flowers. She is survived by: 2 sons - Robert Hawker and Douglas Hawker and his wife Evelyn 4 granddaughters - Debbie and Wayne Smith; Kitty and Sparky McKenzie; Pam and Danny Moser; Dawn Hawker and Keith Frye 14 great-grandchildren - Dora and Dave Reese; Sara and James Conway, Wesley Smith and Jamie Baugher ; Paul Miller;Ashley Miller and Ryan Godles; Josh McKenzie; Brandon Myers and Chasity Arnold; Amber Myers and Travis Beachley; Marisa and Steve Little; Hunter Wilson; Hannah Wilson; Keith Frye Jr.; Katie Moser and Andrew Jarvis; Lacy and Brad Dick Great-grandchildren- Riley and DJ Reese; Zavian, Dakotah Conway; Trystin, Peyton Baugher; Bryce and Braleigh Smith; RJ Godles; Jaelynn and Kolby Dick; Travis Repass; Jacob Beachley, Dylan and Levi Moser She was predeceased by sisters - Annie Ruthella Hawker and husband G. Edgar and Nellie Catherine Strite and husband J. Adrian She also survived by many nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Thursday January 17 at the chapel at Zion Lutheran Church, 107 W. Main St., Middletown from 1 to 3 and 7 to 9 PM. Funeral services will be held at 11:30 AM on Friday Janaury 18 from the church. Rev. Cris Frigm and Rev. Dr. Kathy Vitalis Hoffman will officiate. Interment will be made in Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Middletown. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Zion Lutheran Church. Donald B.
