Roy Cooper Obituary
Born Nov. 25, 1948, in Loudoun County, Virginia, he was the son of Roy F." Frank" Cooper Sr. and Guilda (Dillow) Cooper.
Mr. Cooper Jr. retired after 25 years in sales from Ideal Buick, Frederick, Maryland. Prior, he was employed
with Merchant Noland Chevrolet, Hollar Buick, Leesburg, Virginia.
He was of the Methodist faith and a graduate of Charles Town High School, class of 1967.
He was a member of the Sleepy Hollow Golf and Country Club and Jackson-Perks American Legion Post 71, Charles Town; and was an avid bass player in many bands.
Roy served in the U.S. Army during Vietnam.
He is survived by his wife, of 50 years, Carolyn Faye (Ott) Cooper, at home; daughter, Pam Allen and husband, Scott, of Kearneysville; and grandchildren, Robert Allen and McKenzie Allen.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Eric S. "Scottie" Cooper; and brother, Thomas
Alan Cooper.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 30, 2017, at Melvin T. Strider Colonial Funeral Home, Charles Town, with Pastor Bev Turner officiating.
Interment will be at St. Andrews on the Mount, Harpers Ferry.
Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
