The memorial service for Judith J. Stover, 58, of Lincoln is 2 p.m. today at Elim Lutheran Church in rural Hooper.
She died Thursday, Sept. 12, 2002, at her home from complications of Multiple Sclerosis.
Judith Weickum was born Jan. 26, 1944, in Gregory, S.D. She attended elementary school in Omaha and Winner, S.D. When she was in eighth grade, the family moved to Omaha where she attended Omaha Technical Junior High School and graduated from Central High School in 1962. She married Irvin Gerhard Stover July 20, 1963, in Omaha. They lived on the farm near Uehling where they farmed and raised their two daughters. She attended college at Metropolitan Technical Community College in Fremont and Elkhorn, as well as Southeast Community College in Lincoln. She graduated from Southeast Community College in 1993 with high distinction with a degree in accounting. She lived in Lincoln from 1991 until her death.
Survivors include: her husband, Irvin of rural Uehling; two daughters, DeAnn C. Stover of Lincoln and Katherine M. Stover of Prior Lake, Minn.; six sisters, Georgiana Leighton of Rapid City, S.D., Twila Holderfield of Carter Lake, Iowa, Mary Ertzner of Stanton, Phyllis Maska of Omaha, Josephine Hedlund of Ceresco and Vera Kuhr of Mead; a brother, Victor Weickum of Texas; special friends, Velma Peterson of Cedar Bluffs and Clara Gonzalez of Lincoln; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two brothers.
The Rev. Robert C. Larson will officiate today's service. There is no visitation.
Memorials have been established to the Multiple Sclerosis Society, the Cat House animal shelter in Lincoln and Elim Lutheran Church in rural Hooper.
Honorary pallbearers are Harry Maska, Gary Stover, Ronald Stover, Paul Stover, Dean Stover, Brian Stover and Mark Stover.
Palmquist-Pelan Funeral Home in Oakland is in charge of arrangements.
