Dorothy Schultz Obituary

DOROTHY ELIZABETH SCHULTZ Dorothy, of Reedley, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, July 15, 2003, at the age of 91. She was a much beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She always had a smile for everyone and had a very optimistic view of life. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Dorothy was born in Centralia, IL, on April 28, 1912. She moved to Evansville, IN, where she met and married her husband Raymond. They then moved to Reedley in 1951. Dorothy and Raymond, along with Dorothy's two brothers, started the Dairy Snak ice cream shop in Reedley, and later moved the shop to Parlier, CA. Dorothy was active in the Reedley Study and Civic Club, and in the Reedley First United Methodist Church. She enjoyed playing Bridge in several Bridge clubs and loved doing things with family. Dorothy is survived by her two daughters and their husbands, Sondra and Jim Carlino of Clovis, and Suzanne and Don Fillmore of Reedley; four grandchildren, Sheryl Koch, Julie Fillmore, Jamie Carlino, and Scott Friesen and his wife Charlene; three great-grandchildren, Kendra and Courtney Friesen, and Jessica Holland. She was predeceased by her husband Raymond who died in 1994; and brothers, George Hails (a former Reedley College basketball coach), and Robert Hails of IL. A Funeral Service will be held at The Reedley First United Methodist Church on Friday, July 18, 2003, at l0:00 a.m. Dorothy loved flowers, but for those wishing to donate in her memory, donations may be made to Reedley First United Methodist Church, 1461 11th Street, Reedley, CA 93654.
