Edward Montevecchi Obituary

EDWARD MONTEVECCHI "Frank"

Frank Montevecchi was born on January 11, 1926, in Clarksdale, MS. He passed away on Thursday, January 22, 2004, eleven days after his 78th birthday. He was the youngest of 12 children born to Joseph and Catherine Montevecchi. As a child, Frank moved with his family to northwest Fresno where they worked as farmers. Frank attended Central Union High School. He joined the U.S. Navy and was a World War II veteran, serving in the Far East. After returning to Fresno, he became a truck driver. Along with his brothers-in-law, Frank owned a successful central valley trucking company, G & J Freight. He was an extremely talented mechanic and was a man who could fix anything. Frank was preceded in death by his parents; his beloved son Mark; as well as his sister Amelia; brother John; brother Quinto; sister Annie; and infant siblings. He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Pat; his daughters, Bonni Montevecchi, and Jeannie Montevecchi-Coe; son-in-law, Wayne Coe; cherished grandson and namesake, Frank Montevecchi; daughter-in-law, Dee Dee Montevecchi-Swieso; sister, Mary Pistacchio of Madera; two step-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Golf was one of Frank's passions, and he was a former member of Fort Washington Country Club and Fig Garden Golf Course. He was also a former member of the Edison Social Club and was a member of Our Lady of Victory Church. Frank had a clever sense of humor, and he loved to tease. He was a hard worker who always lived with integrity. He enjoyed going to his grandson's football and baseball games, gambling, working on cars, and being with friends and family. Visitation will be held at Whitehurst Chapel on Sunday, January 25, 2004, from 12:00 to 7:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Our Lady of Victory Church on Monday, January 26, 2004, at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow at St. Peter's Cemetery. Remembrances may be made to the National Brain Tumor Foundation, 414 Thirteenth Street, #700, Oakland, CA 94612-2603, Nancy Hinds Hospice, or the donor's favorite charity. Bonni and Family

My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family at this difficult time.

God Saw You:

God saw you getting tired and a cure was not to be, so He put his arms around you and wispered come to me. With tearful eyes we watched you, and saw you pass away, and though we love you dearly, we could not make you stay. A golden heart stopped beating, hard working hands at rest. God broke our hearts to prove to us He only takes the best.
