I cannot begin to express how sadden ed I was to hear of Mike's passing. I was looking foreward to seeing him on August. 29 for our 35 H.S. reunion
I attended K-8 in San Joaquin and fours years of H.S. in Tranquillity with Mike.
I last saw Mike at our 15 H.S. Reunion. One of the first things he said was "you and I sure played a lot of baseball didn't we". That was Mike, with all his success he still valued his time as a youth. It's important for his family to know that the few times I saw Mike he was always very humble about what he had achieved in his short life.
It would be impossible to explain to you why all of us that attended San Joaquin Elem. are so very close, even though we only see each other at our high school reunions.
I know Mike is in heaven now waiting for the rest of us to show up, perhaps to play some ball.
Good-bye Mike and may God be by your side. I have to go now there is something in my eye.
