What a great man, I remember riding on my Harley with them or just spending time at their home. A large piece of Old Wasilla is now missing.

A finer man, you'll never meet. Bill and I spent quite a bit of time together over a relatively short period of time during the late 70's to the early 00's. We met through an art gallery and bonded in a quick and fun friendship.
I have the privilege and pleasure of being a guest on Bill and Ruby's 'Sweet Thing', fishing and clamming out of Homer. One trip, with John and Emma Bozenoff, we went clamming in Jakalof Bay and got three (nearly full) trash cans or wonderful Butter Clams. WOW, the chowder was fantastic, as were the fried clams. And we never wanted for halibut. One trip where we fished off of the cliffs off Anchor Point I caught a 121# Halibit; the only problem was their granddaughter brought one in that was 1/4# heavier - bested by a kid!
Bill and I spent a fair amount of time cutting firewood together. We spent a few days clearing some of the trees from the area that now houses the MSRMC - many truckloads were brought home.
And Bill let me use one of his boat trailers to haul a 12'X24' cabin from Chugiak to Willow, where it still stands.
I offer condolences to the entire family, and fondest memories to you.
Bill was a special man and friend. Ruby, if you ever need anything...just call.

I´m sorry to hear of his passing. Lots of fond memories from my early childhood of our family visiting at the Church´s homestead, and visits by the Church family at our little cabin in Birchwood.

So sorry to hear this. I have such fond memories of riding our Harleys together.
