Lewis Haney Obituary
Brother Haney began his ministry in 1964 and pastored Walnut Grove Baptist Church, Cave Springs Baptist Church, Steele Baptist Church and White Springs Baptist Church. He was an employee at Morgan Funeral Chapel from 1990 to 1998. He had a popular radio ministry on WGAD for many years called "Let's Talk About Jesus." He was an awesome man of God, husband, father and Poppy. We love you! He was preceded in death by his father, John Haney; mother, Myrtle Moon Haney; sisters, Annie Lou Simmons, Evelyn Coffey, Kathleen Tilley and Alice Haney; and brother, Johnny Haney.
He is survived by his wife, Dianne Chapman Haney; sons, Chris (Karen) Haney and Jonathan (Pamela) Haney; daughter, Penny (James) Holcombe; granddaughter, Katey Haney; grandson, Kyle Haney; father-in-law and best friend, James G. Chapman; nephews, James L. "Jim" Green, Forrest Tilley, Danny Tilley Sr. and David Simmons; nieces, Linda Green and Kathy Wade; and brothers-in-law, Joe, Mark and Mike Chapman.
Pallbearers will be Bill Chance, Ray Watson, Danny Lowe, Tommy C. Carr, A.J. Nance and David Gulledge.
Honorary pallbearers will be the late Billy Ray "Bulldog" Williams, Randy Ross and Dr. Jason Ayres.
Special thanks to Karen Harris, Lisa Henderson, eighth floor and CCU staff at Gadsden Regional Medical Center, Peggy and T.C. Carr, Connie Simmons, Gadsden Regional Hospice and A.J. Nance.
In lieu of Flowers, donations may be made to Lifeline Children's Services, 2908 Pump House Road, Birmingham, AL 35243, in honor of Lewis Haney.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 tonight at Morgan Chapel.

Diane and Family,
Just wanted to let all of you know that you're in our thoughts and prayers. We know that Bro. Haney is in a wonderful place and that he's totally healed.
When my Mom shared this with me last night, I told her that I bet he was up in heaven catching up with my father, Bryce Winter.
We wish that we could have been there for all of you but the distance makes it difficult. Give all your family our love.

Diane, Chris, Penny and Jon. When I heard about Pastor my thoughts went to all of you and to the wonderful memories I have of your family. If it had not been for pastor there is no telling what road my life would be on. It was under his ministry I saw my dad worship God the only time in his life. Charley and I were saved. Me, Charley and Mother committed our lives to Jesus and are still on that road. I have so many loving memories of Pastor. My Prayers will be with you all as you say good by to a remarkable Preacher of Jesus Christ!!!!

Diane,
My sincere sympathies to you and the family. You and Lewis were so kind to me when I arrived in Gadsden in the early 80's. Lewis' sermons always moved me. He was a great and yet gentle person.
