Pauline Copeland Obituary

A Catholic Mass will be said at St. James Catholic Church at 4 p.m. Wednesday.
On April 12, 2015, our mother Pauline Copeland was reunited with her beloved husband, Charles W. Copeland, and her son, David Charles Copeland, and her parents Joe and Jennie Giamalva.
She will be missed beyond words by her daughters, Jennifer Copeland, Lisa Harris, and her four grandchildren, Kimberly, Gregory, Jessica Harris and Shea Copeland. She was a loving sister to Vic, Marion, Patty Giamalva and Jean Griffith. She was a wonderful aunt to all of her nieces and nephews. She had a world of friends that she loved and felt loved by throughout her life. Throughout the years she stated how incredibly grateful she was to have had such a blessed life. Pauline requested that donations be made to St. Jude's Hospital in lieu of flowers.

I was deeply saddened to learn of Pauline's death, and I extend my condolences to the Copeland and Giamalva families for your loss. Pauline and I attended St. James School in the 1950s, and I will always remember her kindness to all and her very warm smile.

Indeed, heaven gained an angel when the Good Lord called Pauline home. Though I have not lived in Gadsden for nearly 40 years, whenever I was there, she would remember me when she saw me and say hello, ask how I was doing, etc. She was smart, funny, caring, loving and I was always proud to call her my friend. Rest in Peace, Pauline, and tell all the other Italians up there hello for me too!

We started St. James when we were only 5 or 6. We stayed together until high school graduation. Pauline was always a warm and caring and gracious person. We will all miss her. Rest in peace dear friend.
