Thomas Walter Cline Obituary
Tom was born Jan. 28, 1928, in Sharples, W.Va., into the coal-mining family of the late Thomas Walter Cline Sr. and Mabel Craddock Cline of Madison, W.Va.
A veteran of the 11th U.S. Army Airborne Division, Tom served in post-war Japan. He was a member of the Sigma Nu fraternity and lifetime member of the West Virginia University Alumni Association. He and his wife Phyllis, both graduates of West Virginia University, lived in Morgantown, W.Va.; Jacksonville, Fla.; and Atlanta before retiring to Buford in the mid-1990s to be closer to their grandchildren.
Tom, who had over 40 years in the pest control industry, and his son Walt, founded Do-It-Yourself Pest Control Inc. in 1982, one of the nation's first do-it-yourself pest control supply stores. He was an avid football fan, following the Atlanta Falcons, the West Virginia University Mountaineers and the Buford High School Wolves with great interest.
Survivors include his wife of 57 years, the former Phyllis Carol Cox, a native of Charleston, W.Va.; daughter, Cynthia Ann Cline of Chamblee; son, Thomas Walter (Walt) Cline III and daughter-in-law, Sherri Marie Cline of Buford; grandchildren, Elizabeth Carol (Scotti) Cline of Charleston, S.C., and Carl Fletcher Cline of Buford; sisters, Doris Cline Browning of Buford, and Marquetta Cline Meeks of Charleston, W.Va.; brother, Robert George Cline and sister-in-law, Myra Grant Cline of Wilmington, Del.; sisters-in-law, Ann Cox Ovington and Barbara Cox Mason of Charleston, W.Va.; and several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the tax-deductible Buford High School Academic Booster Club Fund, which supports and provides scholarships to their many gifted and talented students. BHS ABC, % E. Cleveland, Buford High School, 2750 Sawnee Ave., Buford, GA 30518.

Mr Cline was a patient of mine at the hospital. He was one of the nicest people I've ever met. He will truly be missed. My thoughts and prayers will be with his family.

Tom was a great joy to me, for years now he had been coming to visit have a cup a coffee and share his life stories. I am sure he will be missed by many since he was such a great man. My thoughts and prayers are with Mrs. Cline and his family
