David F. Fisher

1948 - 2024

Janesville, WI - David F. Fisher, 76, passed away with his family by his side on Saturday, June 1, 2024, at MercyHealth Hospital and Trauma Center. He was born April 23, 1948, in Janesville to the late Ira and Elizabeth 'Betty' (Burke) Fisher. A graduate of Parkview High School, he also served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. On February 24, 1968, he married the former Jacqueline 'Jackie' A. Riemer in Footville; she would precede him in death on November 21, 2020.

David enjoyed his ham radios, traveling the U.S. with his family, eating a good donut with milk, and being extremely good with his hands on building things for you. His loves were his tight knit family which included his dogs, his grandson, his daughters, and most definitely the love of his life wife.

David is survived by his daughters and son-in-law: Tracy (Kenneth) Bothun and Tami 'Squirt' Fisher; grandson Zachary 'Billy' Tuma; siblings: Phyllis Schemehorn, Peggy (Roger) Nelson, Jim (Mary) Fisher, and Mary Nunn; his dog Jay Jay; nieces, nephews, cousins and other family. He was preceded by his parents Ira and Betty; wife Jackie; sister Judy Lloyd; and brother-in-law Steve Nunn.

Service for David will be at 5:30 PM Friday, June 7, 2024, at APFEL WOLFE FUNERAL HOME, Janesville. Visitation will be from 4:00 PM to time of service at the funeral home. A special thank you to the Mercy nurses and the palliative care team, who took such great care of David. Most importantly though, to his grandson Zachary, who stayed with and cared for David ever since Jackie died.
