LIZ A. SCHEOPNER Garden City - Liz Scheopner, 66, died on Saturday December 16, 2023 at her home in Garden City. She was born on November 17, 1957 at Goodland the daughter of Charles & Marylyn (David) Engel. Liz attended school in Goodland and moved to Garden City in 1979. For the past 44 years she has been the owner/operator of Scheopner's Water Conditioning in Garden City. Community and volunteer involvement was a passion for Liz and she served in leadership positions as a Past Chair for Garden City Area Chamber of Commerce, boards of Genesis Family Health, Finney County United Way, Western Kansas Community Foundation, Women Of Purpose and several other non profits and organizations. She was an active and beloved member of St Dominic Catholic Church of Garden City. She enjoyed gardening, sewing and especially cooking for her family and being involved with her Grandchildren. She is survived by her Children-Travis & Angie Scheopner of Wichita, Nathan & Tammy Scheopner of Garden City, Jamie & Bobby Ellis of McAlester, Oklahoma and Erin & John Davignon of Garden City, Brother-Chuck Engel of Goodland, Sister-Roxanne & Mark Mollenkamp of Quinter, Step-Mother-Barb Engel of Garden City, and 17 Grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her Parents, infant son-Jeffrey Mark Scheopner and Grandson-Johnathan Davignon. Vigil service was at 6:30 PM Friday and Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM Saturday both at St Dominic Catholic Church with Rev's Tim Hickey and Warren Stecklein presiding. Burial will be in Valley View Cemetery in Garden City. Friends called from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM Friday at Garnand Funeral Home in Garden City.
