Janet Williams Obituary

Janet Williams February 27, 1959 – May 1, 2013 Janet Williams passed away at her home in Newport Beach, CA on the morning of May 1 at the age of 54, after a valiant battle with ovarian cancer. Janet is survived by Jared, her loving husband of 33 years. They were married in Burley, ID on August 17, 1979. Her sons, Christopher and Tyson, their respective spouses, Jessica and Desi, and her grandchildren, Hannah, Max, Lexi and Gauge, lovingly remember Janet. She is also survived by her father, Kent Woodland of Albion, ID, and her mother, Nanette Woodland of Burley ID, as well as siblings, Ann Miller of Shelley ID; Kay Johns of Anaconda, MT; Kirk Woodland of Burley, ID; Doug Woodland of Burley, ID, and Jill Toller of St. George, UT. Janet was born in Burley, Idaho on February 27, 1959. She graduated from Burley High School in 1977, and earned an associates degree in Science from Dixie College in 1979. She worked many jobs over the years (sometimes two or three at a time) and finally retired from a successful transportation and warehousing business she had built with her husband and children. She was able to teach them first hand hard work and honest values. Janet was an especially creative person who expressed her talents through decorating and cooking. She was very fond of her two daughters-in-law and loved spending time with them where she passed on her talents and skills to them. One of her favorite places to go was her mountain cabin near Steamboat Springs, CO where she enjoyed the great outdoors with her family. However, nothing brought her more joy than spending time with her grandchildren. She was the tremendous example of patience and love that every grandmother should be. A visitation service will be held on Monday, May 6th from 5 - 7:00 p.m. at Fairhaven Memorial, 1702 Fairhaven Ave., Santa Anna, CA 92705. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 7th at 11:00 a.m. at the LDS Chapel, 801 Dover Drive, Newport Beach, CA 92663. Internment service will follow at Fairhaven Memorial.

I have so many wonderful and hilarious memories of Janet from when we were kids to the present. They broke the mold with Janet, but I see some of Grandma Hartell in Janet and also see Janet in her granddaughter Hannah. My deepest sympathies to her family, my extended family. I'm grateful for her friendship and will miss her. Love Karen Hansen Lambdin (cousin from New York)
