The son of Michael Reindl Sr. and Julie Meindl was born on July 17, 1984 in Mason City. He graduated from Mason City High School in 2002 where he excelled academically and created lifelong friendships playing baseball and hockey for the Mohawks. Following high school, Mikey joined the family business, Custom Concrete, working alongside his father and brother, Matthew. No two workdays were the same and he loved the balance between pouring concrete in the summer sun and pushing snow in the winter. When his work boots came off, the ski boots came on. Mikey thrived for adventure and spent much of his spare time hitting the slopes, boating, hiking and
traveling. Mikey loved art, music and snuggling in with a good movie.
Mikey's love for the outdoors drew him to the majestic mountains of Colorado where he worked at a ski resort in Breckenridge one season. His quest for a challenge led him down wild, ungroomed mountainsides. He liked the rising sun when it glistened on the freshly fallen snow. It was in Colorado that he crossed paths with the love of his life, Rockelle Manning. It was love at first sight. They eloped January 3, 2018 and had a beautiful wedding reception on the 4-year anniversary of their meeting this past October 27, 2018. They were excitedly awaiting the arrival of their first child in June, and he was thrilled to become a father.
Mikey made friends wherever he went. He had a famous smile and was so very kind-hearted. He championed anyone who needed him, whether he knew them or not. Mikey had an immense capacity to love and actively looked for ways to help others. He was an irresistible prankster and could get a laugh out of even the most unsuspecting victims. Mikey leaves a legacy of kindness. He was so important to us and we have been blessed to have had him these past 34 years.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Rockelle Reindl and their expectant child of Colorado Springs, CO.; his parents, Michael Reindl Sr., and Julie (Dr. Martin) Meindl; brother, Matthew Reindl (Courtney) and their daughter Rowan, sister, Megyn Reindl, all of Mason City; David Meindl (Britt) of Des Moines; Paternal grandmother, Mary Rockwell; aunts and uncles, Sue and Dan Hayes; Bill and Cherie Rye; Chris and Julie Rye; Steve and Vicky Rye; Jennifer and Dan Ramaeker; Debbie and Dave Patrick, Sue and Randy Stearns, Nate Rockwell, all of Mason City; Bob and Linda Rye, Placerville, CA; Kathy Richter, Alaska; and Steve and Anna Reindl, Manly. As well as many cousins, extended relatives and many friends.
