Deborah Lea "Debbie" Nelson, 69, of 95 Gatewood Rd., Yanceyville, N.C., went home to be with the Lord on Friday, June 8, 2018, at her residence after a brief illness. Mrs. Nelson was born on May 13, 1949, in Danville, Va., daughter of the late Hulon Carlton Webster and Lila Bradner Webster, who survives. She spent all of her life in the Caswell County area where she worked for Caswell County Medical Center as a receptionist for over 25 years until her retirement. She was of the Baptist faith. Mrs. Nelson was a graduate of Bartlett Yancey High School, Class of 1967. She loved to volunteer for special events at the Yanceyville Fire Dept. and helped with the Tunstall High School Football Booster events. She was a member of the Caswell County Senior Organization. In addition to her mother, Mrs. Nelson is survived by two sons, Marc Pollard and wife, Kim, of Yanceyville, N.C., and Shawn Scruggs and wife, Connie, of Danville, Va.; daughter, Lanier Cassada and husband, Mike, of Danville, Va.; brother, Brad Webster and wife, Cyndy, of Leasburg, N.C.; grandchildren, Hunter Cassada, Holden Cassada, Halle Rae Cassada, and Bailey Honeycutt; and niece, Jennifer Wyatt and husband, Heath, of Leasburg, S.C. Mrs. Nelson was predeceased by her husband, Roger David Nelson, who died on March 26, 2009. A memorial service will be conducted on Monday, June 11, 2018, at 4 p.m. at Blanch Baptist Church, 5931 Blanch Rd, Blanch, NC 27212 with Minister Jody Pollard and Minister Vernon Massengill officiating. The family will receive friends after the service at the church and at other times, the family will be at the residence, 95 Gatewood Rd., Yanceyville, NC 27379. In lieu of flowers, the family suggest that memorial donations be made to the Yanceyville Fire Dept., P.O. Box 300, Yanceyville, NC 27379.
