Evelyn Webb Gibson, 93, passed away Friday, March 11, 2016, at Roman Eagle Health and Rehabilitation center.She was born on May 2, 1922, in Rocky Mount, Virginia, to the late James Percy Webb and Maggie Mae Farmer Webb. She was married to Lewis Edward Gibson, Sr., who passed away on February 19, 1977.Mrs. Gibson worked at Dan River Mills for 13 years. She was a member of Melville Baptist Church, the Dan River Retiree Club, the Fun Club at Holiday Village and the Senior Citizens Club.In addition to her parents and husband, she was also predeceased by two brothers, Robert Edward Webb, and James Forest Webb; four sisters, Catherine Mitchell, Virginia Peters, Lucille Bernard, and Edith Murphy; and one great- grandchild.She is survived by a daughter, Ellen Frances Hoskins and husband, Otis, of Danville; two sons, Lewis E. Gibson, Jr. and wife, Bonnie, and Donald E. Gibson and wife, Annette, all of Danville; four grandchildren, Pat Gibson and his wife, Liz, of Danville, Jason Gibson of Chatham, Jamie Gibson and his wife, Ross, and Brittany Gibson of Milton, and her boyfriend, Shane Jones; and six great-grandchildren, Nolen Gibson, Collin Gibson, Titus Jones, Joshua Harris, Taylor Gibson, and Patrick Gibson. She was predeceased by a great-grandchild, Jasmine Gibson.Funeral Services will be held Monday, March 14, 2016, at 2 p.m. at Townes Memorial Chapel with the Reverend Charles Swanson officiating. Burial will follow in Danville Memorial Gardens.The family will receive friends at Townes Funeral Home on Sunday, March 13, 2016, from 7 until 8:30 p.m.Townes Funeral Home is serving the Gibson family.
