Jack Harris Obituary

Jack Harry Harris Jack Harry Harris, 71, of 29 Selma Ave, Danville, Va., died on Thursday, October 3, 2013, at Danville Regional Medical Center. He was born March 21, 1942, in Danville, Va., to the late Betty Matthews Harris and the late Rev. John C. Harris. He was married to Pat Cain Harris of the residence. Mr Harris attended Central Boulevard Church of God and worked at Davis Storage until retirement. He enjoyed yard sales, fishing and time with family and friends. In addition to his wife of 53 years, he is survived by his daughter, Jackie Harris Davies and her husband, Richard, of Danville, Va.; one brother, the Reverend Arthur Harris of Danville, Va.; and two grandchildren, Elizabeth Rena Davies and Rebecca Lynn Davies. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by five sisters, four brothers; and one daughter, Melody Dawn Harris. Funeral services will be held 3 p.m. Sunday, October 6, 2013, at Central Boulevard Church of God with the Reverend John Meadows officiating. Interment will follow at Danville Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Saturday, October 5 2013 from 6:30 until 8 p.m. at Norris Funeral Services, West End Chapel and other times at the home. Norris Funeral Services, Inc. and Crematory, West End Chapel, 511 Church Ave., Danville, is serving the family. Online condolences may be made at www.norrisfuneral.com.
