Sarah Thompson Obituary
She was born April 9, 1948, in Sparta, Illinois, the daughter of the late Olen & Elaine (Diercks) Hargis.
Sarah worked at a Librarian at Edwardsville High School, Signal Hill Elementary School in Belleville and then for the Jerseyville School District where she retired.
She is survived by two children, Matthew Thompson & fiancé Pamela Rice of Florissant, Missouri, Margaret Ketcherside & husband Sean of Des Peres, Missouri, and their father Myron Thompson; a granddaughter, Jocelyn Ketcherside; a brother Lawrence Hargis; and four sisters, Joan Farris, Barbara Bretz, Miriam Poston, & Lorna Von Talge.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Charles Hargis.
Sarah was a member of the St. Paul United Church of Christ in Edwardsville.
She was cremated according to her wishes.
A memorial visitation will be held from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday, October 7, 2018, at the St. Paul United Church of Christ on Bluff Road in Edwardsville.
A memorial service will follow at 3 p.m. at the church with Pastor Diane Grohmann officiating.
