CHARLES GANN Obituary

ODESSA - Charles F. Gann Sr., 83, of Odessa passed away Sunday, April 3, 2005, at his residence. Charles was born March 14, 1922, in Burkburnett, Texas, to Homer Houston Gann and Zula Hinn Gann. Charles grew up in North Texas - Ringo and Henrietta; joining the Army (post 4372) in 1942. He served four years and received an honorable discharge. Charles married Delsie on July 4, 1948, in San Angelo; sadly she preceded him in death on Oct. 9, 2000. Charles worked as a welding contractor in Odessa and also as a water well driller, had his own business and worked as a driller on oil wells in the West Texas oilfield. He was a proud member of Northside Baptist Church and the VFW. Charles is survived by one daughter, Norm Gann of Dallas; two sons, Charlie Gann Jr., of Gardendale and Joe Gann of Corpus Christi; four grandsons, Tony Gann of Mansfield, Nathan Gann of Gardendale, Joe Gann of Corpus Christi and Chris Gann of Houston; one granddaughter, Jami Pulley of Plano; and six great-grandchildren. Service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 5, in Sunset Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Clydel Chapman officiating. Military honors with the VFW will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, April 4, at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home.
