Csomor, Laszlo "Les" 3/29/1955 - 12/6/2021 Les (Laszlo) Csomor, age 66, of Rockford, passed away unexpectedly on December 6, 2021, and our hearts and lives will never be the same. Les was born and raised in Hungary - and had a distinctive accent to prove it even after living in the U.S. for 33 years. He was a loving and affectionate husband and father, with pride for his family that was unparalleled. He enjoyed traveling, spending time with family and friends, fishing, joyriding, working in the yard, sharing his taste for interesting foods, cooking delicious Hungarian dishes, cracking jokes, relaxing in front of the TV, keeping tabs on current events, and learning about history and the natural world. He was well known for his skills in automotive repair and could easily fix any issue in any vehicle, and was often sought after to diagnose and repair. He had a heart of gold and was generous with his time. As an expert handyman, whenever someone requested some assistance, he was always ready, willing and able to help. Les was preceded in death by his father, Andras, his mother, Maria, and his brother and sister-in-law, Andras and Ilona. He is survived by his wife, Margie; his daughter, Marina, and her partner, Nofil, of Brooklyn, NY; his niece, Rita, and her son, Dani; and his niece, Zita, all of Mohacs, Hungary. After cremation, an opportunity to celebrate his life with friends and family will be offered from 12:00 noon to 2:00 p.m. and 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. Sunday, December 12 at Pederson Funeral Home, 127 N. Monroe St., in Rockford. His family requests that you arrive either vaccinated or wearing a mask to protect those in attendance who are vulnerable.
