Robert Hamilton
Conrad —Robert (Rob) Sidney Hamilton, III passed away, aged 73, at home, surrounded by his loving family, on March 22, 2016 from a 22 year battle with Parkinsons Disease.
Rob was born July 12, 1942 in Los Angeles, California to Dr. Robert S. Hamilton, II and Grace W. Hamilton. After Rob's father completed his military service, the family moved to Choteau, Montana. After a few years in Choteau, the family moved to what is now known as Hamilton Hill.
Rob attended high school at Mount Ellis Academy in Bozeman, Montana then went on to college at Walla Walla University in College Place, Washington then transferred to Montana State University where he earned his Master's Degree in History. Rob also pursued a law degree after his Master's Degree. Rob went on to teach history in Great Falls for a year before he decided he was an outdoors man. He bought a jeep and a trencher and Hamilton Construction, Inc. was born. He was a loved and respected business owner in Conrad for years.
Rob loved nothing better than being at his cabin at the West Fork of the Teton River when he would bird-watch and hike. He was an avid hiker and has hiked all over the Bob Marshall Wilderness. Rob loved animals and would help any animal in need.
Rob is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Donna; daughter Dr. Traci (James) Cain of Conrad, Montana; sister Candace (Dr. Robert) Shermeta of Largo, Florida; sister Melissa (Art) Cadieux, College Place, Washington; sister Shelley Kaylor, Portland, Oregon; four grandkids, one great-grand child and several nieces and nephews.
Rob was preceded in death by his parents Dr. Robert S. Hamilton, II and Grace W. Hamilton.
Per Robert's request, cremation has taken place and there will be no services. Rob asked his ashes to be spread on Mount Wright, overlooking his cabin.
