Richard J. "Dick" Odea Sr.

Howard - Richard Joseph "Dick" Odea Jr., 86, Howard, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, July 12, 2019. The son of the late Richard J. and Mary Louise (Hudon) Odea Sr. was born on May 27, 1933 in Menominee, MI. Dick grew up in Marinette, WI, graduating from Our Lady of Lourdes High School in 1951. He then joined the US Army and spent 17 months in Korea from 1953-1955. Upon returning home, Dick met the former Nancy Johnston. They united in marriage on September 8, 1956 in Appleton, WI. He went on to graduate from Badger Business School in 1958 and in 1995 retired from Dean Foods as a Purchasing Manager. In his free time, Dick enjoyed being out in the woods or in his workshop. He could fix anything! Dick was also an avid golfer, who in his younger years also enjoyed playing tennis, as well as coaching and refereeing little league baseball and basketball. Above all else, he loved spending time with his family, especially playing pool with the guys.

Dick is survived by his loving wife of over 62 years, Nancy; seven children, Susan (Dale) Collien, Rick (Rose) Odea, Mary (Dan) Deuster, Christy Ramsay, Nan (Greg) Wareham, Tim (Rebecca) Odea, John (Elizabeth) Odea; 16 grandchildren, Kerry, Jennifer, Michael, Joe, Duncan, Alyssa, Sara, Lucas, Corey, Anthony, Grace, Ava, Isabella, Jordan, Jacob, Jackson; seven great grandchildren; a brother, Leonard D. (Linda) Odea; sister-in-law, Barbara (Dan) Ross.

He was preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Matthew Odea; son-in-law, Ronald Ramsay.

Friends may call at Ss. Edward and Isidore Catholic Church, 3667 Flintville Rd., Flintville, on Wednesday, July 17, from 9-11am. The Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11am, Rev. David J. Hoffman officiating. To send online condolences, please visit www.BlaneyFuneralHome.com. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Dick's name.

Dick's family would like to thank Dr. Steven Bollom and his staff, Dr. Bala Davuluri and his staff, Heartland Hospice, and all of his wonderful caregivers for their care and compassion. A special heartfelt thank you is also extended to Home Instead, as well as Dick and Nancy's incredible neighbors in both Suamico and Howard for all of their amazing support.
