FAIRBORN — Life-long Fairborn resident, Stanley L. George, 92, died on July 28, 2022 at Dayspring of Miami Valley. He was born on January 1, 1930 in Dayton, Ohio, the son of Arthur L. and Lola (Harley) George. Stanley graduated from Bath High School, Class of 1949. Following graduation, he served in the U.S. Army in Japan during the Korean War. After the war, he was a truck driver and spent 50 years behind the wheel for Marathon Oil Co., Subler Trucking Co. and Leb Arnold Trucking Co. From the time he was a teenager, Stanley loved cars – everything about them. He was also an avid bird watcher, cat lover and covered bridge aficionado. Surviving are his sister, Nancy, daughter, Rebecca, sons, Robert and Andrew, grandson, Brian and granddaughter, Arielle. A graveside service of remembrance will be held at 3 pm Saturday, Oct. 8, 2022 at Fairfield Cemetery in Fairborn followed by a reception at 4:30 at TJ Chumps in Fairborn. Those who wish to remember Stanley in a special way may make gifts in his memory to Ohio Valley Hospice.
