May 31, 1941 - August 8, 2022
Dawn Lankford Johnson, 81, went home to be with her Lord and Savior early Monday, August 8th, 2022.
We celebrate her life lived for Jesus. There will be a graveside service at 1 p.m., Wednesday, August 10, 2022, at Lakeview Memorial Gardens with Mr. Mark Shelley officiating. The family will receive friends after the service at the home of Alex Valencsin (6045 Summit Ave., Browns Summit).
We acknowledge the marvelous works of God in her as a hardworking woman, wife, sister, mother, and devoted grandmother. Dawn was a woman who prayed, a woman who loved, and a woman who stood for truth. She was a woman who was loved by her Savior. She was treasured on earth by family and friends who she never missed an opportunity to care for through prayer. She was a faithful wife and mother, leaving a legacy of love and faith in Jesus. Today, God's work in her is complete and she stands perfectly clothed for eternity before Him.
Proverbs 31:28-31 Her children arise and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her: "Many women do noble things, but you surpass them all." Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised. Honor her for all that her hands have done, and let her works bring her praise at the city gate.
We love you, Mom! We love you Mamaw! We can't wait to see you again in Glory. Meow Meow.
Dawn was preceded in death by the love of her life, Smith Johnson; her parents, Joe and Vastie Lankford; and her siblings Bobby Lankford, Danny Lankford, Jeanette Lewis, and Shirley Weaver.
She is survived by her children, Sandy Troxler (Wayne) and Dwight Johnson (Sheryl); grandchildren, Alex Valencsin (Steven), Becca Carter (James), Ethan Johnson, and Brantley Johnson; 5 great-grandchildren; sisters, Mary Pate (Joe), and Sandra Carrier (Fritz); and a large extended family.
Memorial contributions may be made to Shannon Hills Bible Chapel, 900 W Vandalia Road, Greensboro, NC 27406.

To all of Dawn's precious family, my sincere condolences on her death (or I should say her homegoing). I am one of the group who I dubbed as the Jefferson Girls. I enjoyed so very much all the times we were able to meet and enjoy a meal together. I really admired our sweet Dawn.

Sandy, Dwight, and families, I extend my sympathy and share my condolences to each of you in the loss of Dawn, she was a great and caring mother. I knew her through Dr. Follo's office and my neighbor Ted and Ann Thompson. She was a lady of love and humility. I am thinking of you at this time.
