Donald Radford "Don" Elliott, of Greensboro, died Sunday, July 23 at Wesley Long Hospital. Don was a native of High Point and moved to Greensboro to attend Guilford College where he met the love of his life, Ellie. They were inseparable in marriage for 46 years. Don was a devoted husband, father, and church member at Cathedral of His Glory. He was an example of faith to his family, friends, and loved ones. He faithfully stood by Ellie as she suffered from Parkinson's for over 30 years, and was her primary caregiver, never leaving her side for over a decade. He exemplified the covenant promises of marriage that a husband should "cling to his wife; so that they are no longer two but one flesh" (Genesis 2:24), and that a man should love his wife "as Christ loves the Church and gave himself for it" (Ephesians 5:25).

Don earned his degree in chemistry and was a talented mathematician and microscopist. He used his skills in quality control in textiles at Burlington Industries. Don had a deep love of the sciences and shared his joy of microscopy with his children. He enjoyed spending time with his family, attending worship, doing math, drawing intricate geometric patterns, and eating waffles at IHOP. He adored his family and was a wonderful father and grandfather.

Don is preceded in death by his parents, Jesse Radford Elliott and Louise Pearson Elliott, brother, Ronald Radford Elliott, and his beloved wife, Eleanor Haines Elliott. He is survived by his children, Jennifer Booker and husband Richard of Norlina, Justin Elliott, Joel Elliott, and Jonathan Elliott of Greensboro; granddaughters, Kaleigh, Regan, and Alexa, and grandson, Raven; Adoptive grandchildren, Kemberling, Luna, Maycol, and Karen, and adoptive great-grandson Justin (all of Colombia); a sister, Brenda Davis and husband Norris of Jamestown, and several nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held at Forbis & Dick Guilford Chapel on Tuesday, August 1, 2023 from 1 until 2 p.m. A celebration of life will be held at 2 p.m. in the chapel with ­­­­­Rev. Richard Booker officiating. A graveside service will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Cathedral of His Glory, 4501 Lake Jeanette Rd, Greensboro, NC 27455.
