NANCY HENSLEY GREENSBORO Nancy Hensley, 69, passed away Sunday, November 3, 2013. Nancy was born January 25, 1944 in Alamance County, the daughter of the late Joseph and Frances Wood Hall. Nancy was the office manager and assistant to the late Dr. James L. Turner for 37 years in his dental practice. Nancy joined ABWA (American Business Women's Association) in 1975 and held many offices including local President. She was a charter member of several chapters-the last one being Heart of the Piedmont and remained active until her death. Nancy mentored many women over the years through ABWA including several National Presidents and various national officers in addition to women locally. Nancy cherished times spent with her family and the beach. She loved people, children and animals. Throughout her life she was a surrogate Mom to many people. In addition to Mom, she was also affectionately known as Red, Grams and Nini. She will be deeply missed. Nancy is survived by her husband, David L. Hensley Sr.; son David L. Hensley Jr. and his wife Allison of High Point, NC and sister, Rose Windley Bayliff of Burlington, NC. On Tuesday evening, there will be a gathering of family and friends from 6:30 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Hanes Lineberry Sedgefield Chapel to celebrate and share memories of Nancy's life. The family will have private services at a later date. ABWA has established a scholarship in memory of Nancy to be awarded at the end of the year.
