Bessie Robinson Obituary

Bessie Campbell Robinson, 91, of 207 Webster St., wife of the late Henry J. Robinson, died Wednesday, Aug. 13, 2003, at Stroud Nursing Home.

Born in Cleveland County, N.C., she was the daughter of the late John C. and Julie Grayson Campbell. Mrs. Robinson was a member at Slater Baptist Church for more than 60 years and was a present member of the TEL Sunday School Class. She retired from J.P. Stevens, Slater Plant, with 38 years of service.

Her love and dedication were to her family, friends and her church. She will be greatly missed by everyone.

Surviving are her two daughters and sons-in-law, Margaret R. and Charles Thornton and Martha R. and Gary Belue; a son, Max Robinson; a sister, Margaret Campbell Hubbard; eight grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; and 16 great-great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by a daughter, Madge Robinson Thornton; three sisters, Ruth Campbell, Beatrice C. Lee and Frances C. Dedmon; and three brothers, Rush, John and Charles Campbell.

Funeral services will be held at 11 o'clock Friday morning at Slater Baptist Church, with burial to follow at Grand View Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends this evening from 6 to 8 at The Howze Mortuary.

Memorials may be made to Stroud Nursing Home, 2906 Geer Highway, Marietta, SC 29661.

The family will be at the home.

The Howze Mortuary, Funeral Directors, Travelers Rest, is in charge of arrangements.
