George Floyd Obituary

George R. (Randolph) Floyd Sr., 64, of 3240 Highway 417, died Dec. 15, 2005, at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.

A native of Reidville, he was a son of the late James R. and Lida Miller Floyd. He was owner of Cox and Floyd Grading, Inc., former member of the Board of Spartanburg Regional Medical Center, served 11 years as a S.C. Municipal Court Judge, a former S.C. State Constable, and a member of AQHA and NCHA. Mr. Floyd was a member of Reidville Masonic Lodge #102, and was a member of Sharon United Methodist Church.

Surviving are his wife, Jackie Sheriff Floyd of the home; a daughter, Ginger M. Floyd of the home; two sons, Randy and his wife, Laura Floyd, of Woodruff, and Brian C. and his wife, Nicole Fowler of Lyman; a sister and brother-in-law, Ruby F. and Junior Pittman of Greer; and five granddaughters, Callie, Gracie, and Emma Floyd, Hannah and Ashlyn Fowler.

He was predeceased by a sister, Frances F. Wilson.

Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday in Sharon United Methodist Church Cemetery, conducted by the Rev. Rance Sprayberry.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. tonight at The Wood Mortuary.

Those desiring may make memorials to Sharon United Methodist Church Building Fund, Sharon Church Road, Greer, SC 29651.
