Martha Lee "Markie" Brewer Lewis, 73, passed away on Wednesday, April 20, 2016, at St. Francis Hospital. Born on April 3, 1943, in Bristol, VA, she was the daughter of the late Ronel and Louise Nelson Brewer. Mrs. Lewis enjoyed reading books, preparing delicious meals for her family, and spending time with her precious grandchildren. Surviving are her husband of 52 years, Oscar Lewis; a daughter, Denise Laughlin; two brothers, Wesley and Dale Brewer; two sisters, Kathy Sellars and Karen Worley; two granddaughters, Whitney McWhite and Brandi Dunkin and four great-grandchildren, Jordan and Ryleigh Southern, Patrick Carter, and Ava McWhite. Mrs. Lewis was also predeceased by three brothers, Johnny, Larry, and David Brewer. The family will receive friends on Friday, April 22, 2016, from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. at The Howze Mortuary. A graveside service will follow at 11:40 a.m. at Graceland West Cemetery. The family will be at the home. Online condolences may be expressed to the family at www.thehowzemortuary.com.
