To dear Marjorie,
and all the Calder family,
Our hearts go out to you today for the sad loss of Bob.
‘We remember Bob with great fondness and can truly say he was a very special man.
Today, we are reflecting on the wonderful times we shared together, both here in Australia and in other parts of the world. For Bill, especially, who had the absolute honor and privilege of working so closely with Bob for many years, this loss is so poignant.
Bob was a dynamic leader, a man amongst men – fair, thoughtful, an innovator; a man with a wicked wit and an equally matched sense of humor.
Bill recalls a time when he had to leave Marjorie, on holidays, in Hawaii, to come to an important business meeting in Melbourne. Picking Bob up at the airport, they headed along the Calder Highway when Bob quipped, ‘Ah, I see they named a highway after me!'
Our continued admiration and respect for Bob and all he achieved in life only grew, as did our friendship with Marjorie and the family, and this friendship remains to this day.'
May it comfort you to know that we are thinking of you all today, here in Melbourne, Australia, as you celebrate the amazing life of a truly remarkable man.
Sending our love and sincere condolences,
Rosalind and Bill Byass

Wayne,Gail,Samantha,Doug, and Lydia, I am so sorry for your loss. I didn't know Bob well. But I could tell he was very family oriented. I saw him at Doug's hockey games, and Lydia's confirmation. Being present for his family was obviously a priority.

We are so sorry for your loss. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of the family. It has been such a pleasure getting to know the Calder family and working with them. I wish I could have known Bob. If his sons are anything to go by, he must have been a very fine man. You have our sincere sympathy.
