Walter Ronald Farley, 78, of Greenville, widower of Elizabeth Warren Farley, went home to be with our LORD on Saturday, May 16, 2015.
Born in Bluefield, VA, he was a son of the late Walter Fred and Doris Thomason Farley.
He proudly served his country as a fighter pilot in the U.S. Marine Corps. He worked as a construction engineer for Yeargin Potter Shackleford and was a member of Taylors First Baptist Church. He was a godly man and a loving husband, father, and grandfather.
Surviving are three daughters, Karen F. Haltiwanger and husband, Lamar, Diane F. Funk and husband, Chris, and Patti F. Rishforth and husband, Tom; a son, Michael Farley; nine grandchildren, Dana, Jessica, and Anna Haltiwanger, Ronnie, Katy, and Meri Funk, and Ben, Elizabeth, and Parks Rishforth; and one brother, Lowery Farley. He was preceded in death by his twin brother, Donald Fred Farley.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 20, 2015 from 11:30 a.m. until 12:45 p.m. in the chapel of Taylors First Baptist Church. A graveside service will begin at 1:00 p.m. in the Taylors First Baptist Church Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, 3343 Peachtree Rd, NE#M20, Atlanta, GA 30326.
