Dear Matt, Alara and Andrew, Please accept my deepest condolences on the loss of your wife and mom. Reflecting back on a remarkable life cut way too short, it was clear from the first time we met on Birchwood, that Melanie was just one of those rare people who could light up a whole room just by entering it. We'll never forget her smile, her vibrant eyes and her caring nature, but most of all, her famous "Hello Kinnears" phone messages that were nothing short of amazing! They would go on for minutes, but we were compelled to listen to the whole thing because they never get old. We look up to your entire family for the courage you have all shown through these tough years, battling this unfair disease with class and dignity.

We miss you big already Mel, but like the message spelled out on your license plate, “See-U”… we all will again, in a better place.

Our thoughts are with you in this moment. Wishing you strength and comfort during these trying times. We'll always cherish Melanie's great smile and kindness, during our years when our sons attended King School.

April 2, 2013

The gorgeousness of Melanie - from her smile, and lovely eyes to the warmth of her personality. I always loved our conversations - she took a deep interest in all I said and that was memorable - she was a listener, a stand out mother and wife and a woman of great style and beauty. We knew one another as parents at King School in Stamford and quite simply, she was someone who brightened the day. One could have been envious of her beauty but that was never the case because Melanie was the real deal in terms of a depth of personality and making everyone feel that they were important to her. No pretenses or superficial stuff.
With heartfelt condolences to her family - please know she touched so many who knew her,

My memories of Melanie are only happy ones. She was a beautiful person and a loving friend. Although our lives spun off in different directions, there is a hole in my heart today. My gorgeous high school friend (and bridesmaid!) will always be remembered with smiles.

My first memory of Melanie was when i met her during Andrew's first field day at Cos Cob School. The funny memory of that day was I don't think Andrew's team placed too high (which was my son's team too) but, she acted like he won each and every race and flashed her gorgeous smile and thumbs up signature wave.
Through our son's friendship I was fortunate to get to know Melanie over these past couple of years. She was such a sweet and warm person with a beautiful smile. We are sad to hear about her passing. May God bless you and your family in this time of sorrow.

Sizi bütün sevgimizle kucakliyoruz, basiniz sag olsun.

Dear Matt, Alara and Andrew, I only met Melanie six months ago, and instantly knew we would become friends. She was by far one of the warmest, kindest people I'd ever met. Her courage and positive attitude were beyond anything I'd ever witnessed. I was looking forward to the warmer weather so we could walk together as I promised we would, but sadly, our time was cut short. I feel so very blessed to have known such an extraordinary woman, and to have met such a wonderful family!

Although we did not get to spend as much time as we would have liked with Melanie, each time we did see her here in Syracuse, she was always a joy to be with. She loved her family very much and was generous to others and always had a sense of humor. I know she will be missed by all who knew and loved her but feel sure she is watching over her loved ones now in peace at last.

In fondness and kindness of a beautiful person, especially on the inside. This is how I will remember Melanie, her constant interest in others, not wanting to draw attention to herself, her love for her children, her sense of hope. May
God bless her and keep her light shining forever.
